How to wake up feeling great: The 90 minute rule

Dwayne Harapnuik —  June 10, 2014 — 2 Comments

I have been reading about the importance of sleep lately and after a relatively poor nights sleep and feeling horrible this morning I have decided to test out the 90 Minute rule methodology. One of the most important factors for effective learning is enough sleep so this simply methodology could have a significant difference.

I will be using the website sleeptiming.com to help me determine just when I need to go to sleep.

The above video is based on Richard Wiseman’s book Night School

Stay tuned for results of my experiment.

  1. Let me know how this works out. I think I naturally follow this type of sleep schedule. I always wake up 3 hrs after falling asleep and then every hour and a half after that. I can very often get just 3 hrs of sleep a night and feel good the whole day, its those times I get 4 or 5 hrs that I am more tired. Seems like 7.5 is the best for me which is what the timer says is best.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been to consistent with this. When I do get it right I do feel more refreshed and can get going faster in the morning. The challenge is getting consistent.
