The functionality that will be necessary to move ebooks beyond passive screen readers will more than likely from HTML5.

Ustream Live just released its iPhone app that allows you to stream live video from your video-capable iPhone 3GS to the web, Twitter, Facebook or YouTube over both Wi-Fi and 3G connections. The app also includes:

  • the ability to start a yes/no poll
  • support for portrait and landscape recording
  • audio muting
  • video title editing
  • video resolution selection
  • viewer count
  • the ability to broadcast your phone’s GPS recording while streaming

There is no release date or pricing for the device on the iCarte site but until Apple releases their next generation iPhone with RFID this should provide a suitable alternative.

Was a rumored mass purchase of 10 inch touch screens just that, a rumor, or will we see an Apple Tablet release perhaps in the new year? I won’t speculate but simply point to Hiners article and give you the option to make your own decision.

Dropox for iPhone

Next to Evernote, Dropbox is one of my favorite web-based, cross platform tools. Now that they have added an iPhone app this productivity tool has gotten even better. Now in addition to accessing my files from my Windows, Linux, or OSX I can access my files on go on my iPhone.
