The backwards compatability issue “should” be limited to ARM devices. Not x86 based devices. Still a bit anoying but it is difficult to engineer cross platform backwards compatability without compromises to the forward model.
Interestingly Microsoft is making fun of the way Google updates and changes rendering things obsolete, but if you look at Microsoft Windows 8 Metro it renders EVERYTHING obsolete. Meaning it will not be backward compatible for anything, not even the Office suite.
I think this video is very funny and rings true but it shouldn’t be Microsoft that is giving the lecture.
Great point! I haven’t been watching Windows 8 that closely but when you point this out this really is an example of the “pot calling the kettle black”. Thanks for putting this in perspective.
