Coffee Can Make You Smarter – Choose your dose wisely

What does coffee have to do with learning? A fair amount. I met my wife at a coffee shop and learned how important it is to share everything with the right person. The Life Hacker post The Science Behind Coffee and Why it’s Actually Good for Your Health suggests that coffee can make you smarter because:

By blocking the inhibitory effects of Adenosine, caffeine actually increases neuronal firing in the brain and the release of other neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine. Many controlled trials have examined the effects of caffeine on the brain, demonstrating that caffeine can improve mood, reaction time, memory, vigilance and general cognitive function.

Unfortunately, the Lifehacker post doesn’t point to the amount of coffee needed for the necessary results so I am offering the following infographic as a starting point that could help you to determine correct dose of coffee that you may need. What’s the worst that could happen–you could end up meeting that special person while conducting your research at your local coffee shop. Enjoy!
