  1. I just read about this in Adam Grant’s book, Think Again. So interesting.

Thanks for recommending this book. I have it on my to-read list now.

I was just taking a closer look at Grant’s book Think Again and noticed that he is also the author of Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World. In the back of my mind, I knew that the name Adam Grant was familiar and I now recall reading his other book. The notion of looking for a better way or an easier way is something that has always appealed to me so Grant’s idea of looking for novel ideas, shaking up the status quo, and taking the initiative to make your vision a reality aligns with the way that I tend to work. Thanks again for recommending Think Again.

      • It does sound like you!

Grant is the first voice I’ve heard to challenge the frog boiling in water. It isn’t true! I wonder what else we have taken for granted, that should be reconsidered.

There are a lot of things most people take for granted that just aren’t true. Have a look at Hans and Ola Rosling TED Talk – How not to be ignorant about the world I have linked on my site at http://www.harapnuik.org/?p=8469
You will see that so many people hold many things that just aren’t so. Sowell’s book Intellectuals and Society points out that too often even the highly educated or those who we may refer to as intellectuals are too often guilty of holding ill-informed or simply wrong positions. I think Sowells best quote from this book is: “Virtually no idea is too ridiculous to be accepted, even by very intelligent and highly educated people, if it provides a way for them to feel special and important. Some confuse that feeling with idealism”.
